Catamaran Excursions is a static editorial site. We don't run accounts, don't process payments, and don't collect personal information directly. This page explains what happens behind the scenes, in plain English.

What we collect
This site is statically generated — no user accounts, no login forms, no order processing. We do not directly collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or payment details.
Like every website, our hosting provider records standard web-server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, browser user-agent). These are used to operate the site reliably and to identify abuse. Logs are typically retained for a short period and not used to build user profiles.
Cookies
This site does not set first-party tracking cookies. The only client-side storage we may use is a session-scoped browser flag for the floating "Compare all tours" pill — it does not identify you and is cleared when you close the tab.
If we later add traffic analytics (e.g., Plausible or Umami), it will be cookieless, privacy-respecting, and disclosed here at the time it goes live.
Third-party links
GetYourGuide is our booking partner. When you click "Book" or any tour link, you leave this site and land on GetYourGuide's domain. From that point, GetYourGuide's privacy policy applies — they handle the transaction, your card details, and your booking confirmation. We do not see or store any of that data.
Google Fonts is used to load Fraunces, Source Sans 3, and IBM Plex Mono typefaces. Google's font CDN may log your IP for delivery purposes; their privacy terms apply.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are a resident of the European Union, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive privacy law, you have rights regarding personal data we hold about you. Because we don't directly collect personal data, in most cases there's nothing to access, correct, or erase. For server-log data: email us and we'll work with our hosting provider to honour your request.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves (for example, when we add analytics). The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any change.
